Medical device maker Welch Allyn plans to power down its Beaverton manufacturing as part of a worldwide restructuring.

Welch Allyn will shift the manufacturing of patient monitoring systems and other devices to its New York headquarters, leaving the Oregon office to focus on product development. The change is one of many planned over the next three years, the company announced this week.

The privately held company will eliminate 10 percent of its global workforce, or about 275 jobs, as part of the move. Welch Allyn does not disclosed annual sales figures, though in 2009 disclosed that annual revenues topped $600 million.
