The newly renovated state Transportation Building was completed on time and under budget.

Although lawmakers authorized $60 million in self-financing bonds, Patrick Cooney, chief spokesman for the Transportation Department, said there will be no leftover money because the agency drew only the amount needed to pay for the project.

Counting services by SERA Architects of Portland and construction work, staff relocations, space leases and new furnishings, the entire project will come in about 20 percent below the $69.5 million originally budgeted.
