Oregon Republican delegates cast 23 of their 28 delegates for Mitt Romney.

Four other delegates voted for Rep. Ron Paul and one for former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum. Romney was formally nominated as the party’s presidential candidate during the traditional roll call of the states.

Allen Alley, who chairs the state’s delegation and the Oregon Republican Party, used the opportunity to proclaim to the convention that the state would be “the next red state on the left coast.”
