The Portland area’s homebuilding market is the strongest it’s been since 2008.

Area homebuilders pulled permits for more new homes last month than any July since 2008. They also pulled more permits through July than for the same period of any year since 2008.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, area builders planned 790 housing units in July, including 434 single-family homes with a combined value of $110 million.
