Nike remains in support of Lance Armstrong even as he is stripped of his Tour de France titles, choosing not to fight charges from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.
Armstrong’s decision means that while he will not have to go through a trial to fight the charges, the acclaimed cyclist will still be stripped of his historic seven Tour de France titles.
Nike, which has deep ties with Armstrong as a sponsor and supports Armstrong’s Lance Armstrong Foundation, declared its support of the cyclist in a statement which reads in part: “Lance has stated his innocence and has been unwavering on this position. Nike plans to continue to support Lance and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, a foundation that Lance created to serve cancer survivors.”
