Bob Farwell, owner of the controversial Cottage Grove Speedway, must shut down the racetrack immediately because he’s failed to make progress on mandated fire safety, environmental, drainage and roadway upgrades, the city has ordered. But the speedway’s lawyer said Monday that he hopes to persuade the city to keep the track open and allow scheduled races this weekend and beyond.
