Oregon added 1,700 jobs in June, and the unemployment rate ticked up slightly to 8.5%.

Officials also revised upward May’s job gains, saying employers added 700 more jobs than originally estimated. That pushes the month’s gains to 7,600 jobs, the strongest monthly gain since October 2010.

That stands in contrast to the rest of the nation. U.S. job growth stalled in the second quarter, falling to one-third the pace of the first three months of 2012.
