Salem Hospital was rated the safest hospital in Oregon by Consumer Reports.

The publication rated 1,159 U.S. hospitals using six measurements: infections, readmission, overuse of scanning, communication about new medications and discharge, complications and mortality.

Salem Hospital earned a score of 63 out of a possible 100 with top scores in limiting the use of scanning and reducing infections.
