GreenWood Resources’s Boardman poplar plantation will supply Columbia Forest Products hardwood veneer planes.
The panels feature bands of poplar veneer that will be generated with a high-tech lathe installed in Boardman where GreenWood keeps its 35,000-acre, Forest Stewardship Council-certified poplar plantation and The Collins Companies manages the onsite sawmill. The veneer bands will be processed at Columbia Forest Products’ plywood mill in Klamath Falls.
GreenWood Resource’s Boardman poplar plantation has become a valuable player in Oregon’s sustainable economy, playing a key role in biofuel research and providing woody biomass to the ZeaChem green chemistry and alternative fuels operation in Boardman.
