Portland-area home prices rose 3.3% in June compared with June 2011.

Of the month’s sales in the metro area, 18.3 percent were bank-owned properties, which typically sell for less than the rest of the market.

Clear Capital reported a 0.4 percent increase in area home prices in May.

The firm now says it expects home prices in the Portland metro to increase 2.4 percent in 2012. That’s a more optimistic outlook than its January forecast, which called for a 1.9 percent gain.
