The Salem City Council is scheduled to vote whether to change 56 acres of Mill Creek Urban Renewal Area to an enterprise zone.

Doug Rux, assistant director of the city’s urban development, said the move will make Salem more competitive with other cities.

Rux said companies considering relocating to the area continually inquire about the availability of enterprise zoning in the Mill Creek Industrial Area.
