The district decided to remove Planned Parenthood instructors from a new health program after a Salem father complained.
Planned Parenthood received a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to offer Teen Outreach Program, an evidence-based program shown to reduce the risk of teen pregnancy, suspension and dropout.
As the district potentially backs away from a class proven to reduce teen pregnancy, it continues to be at the heart of one of the areas with the highest teen pregnancy rates in the state.
