 Portland’s City Council is considering a new plan for parking on the Central Eastside when new streetcar service begins in September.

City officials worked with eastside business leaders for nearly two years to develop the plan that looks at ways to match parking supply and demand in the Central Eastside Industrial District and address employee parking and access to businesses.

Under the plan, the district would have a permit program to create priority parking for employees and two-hour time limits for visitors. It also includes parking meters.
