Eugene-based Papé Group, a holding company for equipment dealerships, is expanding into northern Idaho as part of its recent acquisition and expansion trail.

Papé Machinery, one of the companies in the group, became the authorized dealer for Morbark in three Idaho counties, effective Monday. This follows an earlier expansion of Papé’s partnership with Morbark; in December, Papé became the exclusive agent for the Michigan-based firm’s industrial equipment sales, service and parts throughout California.

The privately held Papé Group, which does not disclose financial information, does business at more than 60 locations in Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon and Washington, according to its website. It was founded in 1938 and today has about 1,700 employees. In addition to Papé Machinery and Papé Material Handling, other companies in the group are Papé Kenworth, Ditch Witch Northwest, Engineered Products, Papé Motive Power, Papé Rents and Bobcat West.
