Three companies are joining together to form a biodiesel manufacturing and distribution hub in Portland’s Northwest Industrial District.

Whole Energy Fuels Corp. of Bellingham, Wash., announced Tuesday it would set up a new distribution facility in Portland.

The company will be joined in the building at the corner of Northwest 28th Avenue and Industrial Street with Oregon Oils, a cooking oil recycling operation, and Beaver Biodiesel LLC, a biofuels manufacturer that will move its operations from Albany to Portland.

“This will be a vertically integrated biofuels facility,” said Daniel Shafer, principal manager of Beaver Biodiesel. “It will allow us to reduce the total CO2 impact of producing and distributing biofuels.”
