Portland Mayor Sam Adams wants city employees to test and give feedback on new locally manufactured products.

The goal? To enable local firms to market products to public agencies, including the city. If city employees like the products, officials may consider issuing contracts or designing pilot programs around the items.

“It should be viewed as a way to further complement or enhance the firm’s marketing efforts and serve as a mutually beneficial business partnership between the city and the supplier,” the city’s solicitation reads.
