While some were disappointed that the prices didn’t come down as much as they hoped, auction bidders snatched up condos at South Waterfront’s Atwater Place for bargain prices.
The auction marked a dramatic turning point in what had been a 15-year building boom for downtown condos.
The Atwater Place, a glass cube in Portland’s South Waterfront district, offers Mount Hood views and top-of-the-line finishes. But the tower opened in 2007 just as the housing boom deflated.
