Beaverton split on stadium


Beaverton poll results were nearly half-and-half on a possible tax hike for a new stadium.

Voters in Beaverton would likely support a property tax increase to build a new stadium, but only by a slight margin.

Those voters also said they’d most like to attend a multiuse stadium for purposes such as concerts, with community celebrations, general events and baseball games garnering secondary support.

The survey found that 50 percent of the 355 registered voters polled would somewhat or strongly support a property tax increase averaging $5 per month. Forty-six percent of voters polled somewhat or strongly opposed a tax hike.
