U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio plans to meet with John Kitzhaber to discuss his possible bid.
As part of his own decision-making process over a gubernatorial run, U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio plans to meet with former governor John Kitzhaber to discuss a possible run between the two.
The Springfield Democrat said Thursday in an interview that while he is eager to make a decision on whether to run for governor, he is “not bound by a time line” to make that call.
Previously, DeFazio aides had said he planned to reach a decision around Labor Day — which was Monday. He avoided any specific timetable for reaching a decision, other than to say he hoped to reach one soon.
