Occupy Portland demonstrators joined other Occupy movements across the nation in N17 protests. They plan to occupy banks and other financial institutions.

Protesters moved to Tom McCall Waterfront Park after starting the day on the east side of the Steel Bridge. About 14 arrests were made, including, the Statesman Journal reported, that Heather Conroy, executive director of the Service Employees International Union Local 503, SEIU spokesman Ed Hershey said.

Like protests planned throughout the United States, Portland’s demonstrators plan to occupy banks and financial institutions, and possibly other businesses. Their mobilization on banks and businesses is expected to begin about 11 a.m.
