Another casualty of the suffering high-tech industry, Cleanpak will shut down its Clackamas production and soon move its manufacturing to a Tualatin plant.

Sluggish demand in the high-tech sector means layoffs for more than 160 employees at Cleanpak International, a Clackamas-based manufacturer of air-purification systems for clean rooms and related applications.

John Albert, the company’s vice president and chief operating officer, told workers Monday morning that production at the facility will cease in two months, when existing orders are filled.
