EAGLE POINT — Last year, Bob Russell shed his suit and tie job in Lake Oswego and followed a dream 270 miles south to the banks of Little Butte Creek. He paid $600,000 for Butte Creek Mill, the oldest operating grist mill this side of the Mississippi River, and spent the last year improving the mill’s infrastructure, landscaping and marketing. “I’m afraid to push the button to find out how much I’ve spent,” Russell says. Watch for wine tastings and special events this summer along with the grand opening of an on-site antiques business this month.
