Pesticides just another tool

“Pesticides are tools and like every tool from a hammer to a chain saw or the gasoline in your car, they are valuable additions to society’s efforts to keep warm and well fed.”

The first person in May [THE OTHER SIDE OF PESTICIDES] is an excellent article. Pesticides are tools and like every tool from a hammer to a chain saw or the gasoline in your car, they are valuable additions to society’s efforts to keep warm and well fed. Like all of the other tools we use, pesticides simply need to be carefully managed and it sounds like Bob Hale does a conscientious job of that. It is unfortunate that the environmental industry has created such fear in urban dwellers. It is also unfortunate that most Americans now live in cities where they are generally out of touch with where their food, clothing and housing comes from.
