PORTLAND ā€” The sun has been setting on the 939th Air Refueling Wing for more thanĀ  a year but, similar to Daylight Savings Time, the move sprang ahead a bit. Instead of closing at the end of September 2010, Air Force Reserve Command officials announced the wing would close in June 2008. In the meantime, a second reduction in force means 340 employees have to start looking for new jobs sooner than previously expected. In 2006, Portlandā€™s Air Force Reserve wing relocated all eight of its KC-135 refueling aircraft in conjunction with the Base Realignment and Closure Commissionā€™s order of November 2005.
