The seminar will be held at the Moda Tower in the 19th floor conference room, located at 601 SW Second Avenue in Portland.  Registration fee is $20 prepay online or $25 at the door.

As part of our Lawyers for Employers® breakfast seminar series, we will discuss Portland’s Sick Leave Ordinance and focus on what employers must do to comply with the law, which went into effect January 1.  The Ordinance applies to employers located in Portland, and also impacts employers with employees performing even minimal work in the city.  We will discuss best practices for modifying your company’s policy, including how to meet the employee leave notification and record-keeping requirements.  Those attending the seminar will receive a checklist for reviewing your company’s policy for compliance.  After the main presentation, we will provide a separate breakout session for employers who have unionized workplaces to explain the impact of the Ordinance on them and how they can reduce costs and risks in their implementation of the Ordinance.  These seminars are geared toward employers, managers, human resource professionals and corporate counsel.
