The utility lost its single biggest customer when International Paper shut down its Albany paper mill in December 2009. The Millersburg plant amounted to 1 percent of the company’s entire electric sales.

Reiten said data centers are replacing paper and wood products mills as the main industrial customers for Pacific Power. Its biggest customer now is a server farm Facebook is building in Prineville.
