Xzeres Corp. plans to sell nearly 100 turbines to a Vietnam customer, to provide wind power on small remote islands.
CEO Frank Greco said around 100 of the company’s systems — including 10-kilowatt and 2.5-kilowatt turbines — are expected to be delivered over the next 17 months.
It marks the company’s first sale in Vietnam, a market Greco said is ripe with potential.
“This is a substantial milestone for Xzeres and particularly with respect to our initial penetration into Vietnam,” he said in a news release. “We believe that there is potential for even more substantial business with this customer, as there are over 3,000 islands in Vietnam that will need power.”
