SolarWorld AG reported a decline in first-half sales and profits, but still expects to surpass last year’s revenue of $1.8 billion.
The German solar panel-maker, which employs more than 1,000 at its U.S. headquarters and manufacturing operation in Hillsboro, reported net income of $32 million after two quarters this year, a decline of 56 percent. Sales for the period fell nearly 14 percent to $761 million.
First half shipments, however, increased from 377 megawatts of capacity to 381 megawatts.
