The one-two punch of mounds of unmelted snow around Crater Lake and the Bowmer Theatre closure in Ashland hurt Southern Oregon lodging activity in June.

While statewide lodging figures chttps://www.oregonbusiness.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_contentompiled by Smith Travel Research of Tennessee showed across-the-board year-over-year improvement in June, including an 8.2 percent jump in room revenue, Southern Oregon had diminished activity, led by a 3.6 percent decline in room demand and a 2.8 percent drop in the occupancy rate.
