After all three of investor Carl Icahn’s nominees to Mentor Graphic’s board won election at the company’s annual meeting, CEO Wally Rhines seemed to take the news well.
In separate interviews, Rhines and Icahn said they are eager to put months of acrimony behind them and collaborate on Mentor’s future. Neither would say exactly what their next steps are, but they expressed confidence they could work together.
“It’s just like a political election. Any arguing is over,” Rhines said. “Now we have a board that has a common objective: to grow shareholder value.”
