The Lake Oswego and Portland city councils are set to vote this week on the controversial proposed streetcar line connecting the two cities.

The vote would decide if the streetcar line is the locally preferred alternative, over an enhanced bus service and a no-build option.

The federal government, which is predicted to pay about half the cost of the project, only funds those that have been designated the locally preferred alternatives by all other funding partners.
