Sandy Serrano of Ochoco Plaza Cleaners said that the gas crunch has affected many businesses in the area of shipping and fuel charges. For her and her family, they have seen an increase of approximately 20 percent in the cost of fuel charges. Serrano said that she and her husband are looking at parking their SUV and finding a more economical car for their longer trips.

Reflections in other areas of business include fuel charges that are passed on to customers due to increasing fuel prices. Serrano said that businesses have to absorb the rising fuel costs.

“The poor person at the end of the line has to pay.”
