ON Semiconductor said its six factories in Japan made it through the earthquake with minimal damage, but infrastructure problems will disrupt operations.

Two factories will shut down, the company said.

“The company currently anticipates infrastructure services will improve towards the end of the first quarter,” ON Semi said. “The company is identifying options to shift production to other facilities to support supply continuity for customers.”

ON Semi’s flagship fab employs 545 in Gresham and is in the process of adding 70 jobs, in part because ON was already planning to shift some work from Japan to Gresham. It wasn’t immediately clear whether the earthquake will affect those plans.
