The chance that Oregon’s Senate will be split evenly between parties has faded, but final results aren’t expected until the end of the week.

Democrats are expected to hold onto a slim 16-14 majority once the votes are counted.

Campaigners on both sides said Tuesday they want to make sure the counts were conducted properly, though neither had specific allegations of mistakes or wrongdoing.

“When you get down to a swing factor of a couple hundred votes … you just want everybody to take a deep breath and slow down and march through the process in an orderly fashion,” said Senate Republican Leader Ted Ferrioli.
