Popular financial advice author Suze Orman wants EquiPoint Financial Network Inc. to stop using her implied endorsement in mailings offering reverse mortgages to Oregon seniors.

Oregon regulators said they would again ask the San Diego-based company to respond to demands to alter the mailings. The Oregon Division of Financial and Corporate Securities said the solicitations violated rules against deceptive marketing of mortgage products.

The company did not respond to letters sent by the agency in June asking that it alter the mailings, agency spokeswoman Lisa Morawski said. At least one version of the mailing lacked the company’s name and appeared to be linked to the “U.S. Economic Stimulus Package.”
