It’s official: Oregonians get a windfall. Taxpayers will receive a $464 million refund in 2018. The average kicker will be $277. OPB has more.
Gov. Brown, Jeff Sessions and pot. Oregon’s governor sent another cannabis-related letter to U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions yesterday. Brown’s latest correspondence insists that Oregon keeps its marijuana marketplace in compliance with set federal guidelines. The Portland Business Journal has the story.
Paul Ryan and Intel. The House Speaker is in Oregon today hosting a roundtable discussion about the tax code at Intel. Ryan will also host a fundraiser this afternoon for Rep. Greg Walden. The Oregonian has more.
Eclipse spiked gas prices. Prices per gallon in Oregon jumped to the highest in the U.S. with a state average of $2.81 a gallon. Those high prices are likely to stick around. Read more from the Bend Bulletin.

Brookings fire top U.S. priority. The fire burning in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest has been labeled the top priority fire in the nation by the National Interagency Fire Center. The fire has burned 98,000 acres and is 0% contained. OPB has more.
Providence begins layoffs. The first cuts eliminated 210 jobs from the company’s seven-state territory. In Oregon, eliminated positions were from marketing and the mental health hotline. The Oregonian has more.
Amazon adds beer, wine to Portland Prime Now. The one and two hour delivery service now includes hundreds of brands like Deschutes and Underwood. Prime Now delivers between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Check out the full list here.
