Tamara Lundgren, CEO of Schnitzer Steel Industries Inc., supports a U.S.-Canada council to create opportunities for women executives.
Lundgren was one of nine leaders who sat in on a roundtable discussion with President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Monday. Trump and Trudeau used the roundtable to launch the Council for the Advancement of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders.
“The leadership and entrepreneurial opportunities that this task force could open up for women at all levels could be extremely impactful,” Lundgren says.
During the meeting, Lundgren recommended the task force should make an effort to include members from both countries and share public-private partnership best practices. She also advocates for the development of a complementary public-private partnership platform in the U.S. to leverage the talents of women leaders in engineering, construction, real estate development, project management, finance and law.
