The sportswear leader will add 3.2 million square feet to its world headquarters in Beaverton.
Nike stated in a press release that the expansion is only the latest in campus development.
With every expansion, Nike fuels the collaborative spirit inherent and essential to sport, innovation and, thus, the company’s growth, while simultaneously respecting its surroundings. This tradition will continue with the new campus expansion and can also be seen worldwide in recent Nike builds, including Converse’s offices in Boston, Nike’s Greater China Headquarters in Shanghai and the company’s workspace in Milan. Each promotes movement and encourages fluid teamwork through inventive, flexible spaces.

The Portland Business Journal reports that “the price tag for the project hit $380 million in December when the company notified the state it had satisfied the final part of a 2012 deal it made with the state in exchange for tax certainty.”
Nike already exceeded the other requirement of the agreement: creating 500 jobs. Last year it said it has hired more than 2,000 workers since striking the deal.
