The grocery chain filed a layoff notice with the state on Wednesday. Stores at 1855 Blankenship Rd. in West Linn and 14800 SE Sunnyside Rd. in Happy Valley will close within 60 days.

A total of 138 people will lose their jobs as a result of the two store closures, according to the notice.

Haggen originally planned to keep the stores open, according to Oregon Live.

The layoff notice comes as Haggen attempts to sell off its remaining stores to pay its debtors. However, these four stores were not included in Haggen’s list of its core stores. Court documents defined core stores as “relatively successful” stores in good locations.

…All four stores were formerly Albertsons stores, which Haggen bought a little over a year ago as Albertsons sold off more than 100 stores in order to receive FTC approval to merge with Safeway.
