STATESMAN JOURNAL: The jobless rate fell to 5.1 % in January, according to the state Employment Department.
Oregon’s payroll report surged by nearly 10,000 jobs in January, the agency said, with four major industries leading the way: construction, manufacturing, leisure and hospitality, and professional and business services.
Since January 2015, when the jobless rate was 5.9 percent, payroll employment has risen by almost 60,000 jobs.
