A family with 20 years in the coffee shop business opened Intatto Coffee & Tobacco Co. in Ashland.
Douglas Terrill and his family have 20 years in the coffee shop business, but for the first time have added hookah tobacco to their menu.
The small Ashland shop features imported cigarettes and premium cigars alongside sandwiches made with local ingredients and freshly roasted coffee.
Terrill said he expected the Middle Eastern water pipes used for smoking flavored tobacco to be popular with the twentysomething crowd, but adults of all ages have been showing an interest.
“It’s such a social thing,” he said.
