Applied Predictive Technologies says the pace of retail sales grew faster in Portland (at 9.2 percent) than anywhere else in the nation.
Seattle took second at 6 percent and Denver rounded at the top-3 at 4.6 percent.
The APT Index aggregates in-store sales data at over 100,000 retail chain stores and restaurants across the country to show how year-over-year sales performance changes.

Sales increased by 1.8 percent nationally.
