Jive Software moved its headquarters from Portland to Paolo Alto to be closer to its competition and the Silicon Valley talent pool, but the continually innovating company says it will continue adding Oregon jobs.

The company hopes to sell stock in an IPO next year, a route it prefers to selling the business to a larger software company.

Last week, Jive updated its core software, SBS, adding microblogging, widgets based on the OpenSocial standard, and a series of other features. It also hired a new engineering vice president and added a board member, both in California.

On Monday, Jive announces two more planned upgrades to its software — a dashboard to summarize key information and and apps marketplace for simple add-ons to improve the company’s software. The company is also licensing Twitter’s entire feed so companies can stay current on what’s being tweeted about them, and putting its software in Google’s Apps Marketplace.
