MotoCzysz cycles race into spotlight


A Portland company is basking in publicity after its electric motorcycle won a race for electric vehicles on the Isle of Man.

Portland company MotoCzysz made a splash on the international scene with its electric racing motorcycle that boasts 10 times the battery capacity of the Toyota Prius.

The MotoCzysz E1pc won a race for low-emission vehicles on the Isle of Man last week.

Michael Czysz, the man behind the tiny Portland-based company, is being hailed by Wired magazine as a “moto-genius.”An extensive piece in Popular Science hails the MotoCzysz E1pc as “the world’s most advanced electric motorcycle.”

The Popular Science article indicates that MotoCzysz may be working on more than just high-end racing bikes, reporting that the company is partnering with Indian automobile giant Bajaj, which has been lining up partners to enter the electric car market.
