The National Women’s Soccer League will play its final game at Providence Park in October.

In previous years, playoff games were played at the team with the better record, but this year will be the first with a predetermined location.

The Portland Thorns have led the league in attendance for the three years the team has existed.

“Everyone with the NWSL, from our clubs to our broadcast partner, is thrilled to bring our marquee event to Portland,” NWSL Commissioner Jeff Plush said in a news release. “Prior to the 2015 season, our owners made the decision to change the playoff format from the higher-seed hosting the final to a pre-determined location. We are very excited to start this next chapter of our League’s championship match. Providence Park gives us a great opportunity to put on a fantastic event in front of our fans and for those watching on FOX Sports 1.”

The stadium is the largest venue in Portland with a capacity of 21,144, which was the attendance of the Thorns’ game against Seattle Reign FC in July.

The release indicated that tickets were on sale from the Thorns’ website, but they were not yet available Tuesday morning.
