Hi-Tec Sports is planning to move from downtown Portland to Tigard.

The move is intended to give the brand more room to grow.

U.S. CEO Simon Bonham said in a news release: “The move to Tigard has already reaped rewards for our staff and customers, who now have a more comfortable, interactive space for line previews and key product showings.

“We are experiencing significant growth in sales and market share gain for both brands and this move will allow us to continue our aggressive growth plans.”

The Amsterdam-based company moved its U.S. office to Portland from Modesto four years ago. It employs 22 workers.

“We find Portland delightful place to hire young, very sharp people,” company founder Frank van Wezel said in May.

The move bucks recent trends, in which companies, especially in the software sector, have been relocating from the suburbs to inner city Portland.
