A vessel from Westwood Shipping is scheduled to stop in Portland today.

Westwood is Portland’s remaining connection to Asia, moving products to and from Japan. Hanjin Shipping Co. was Terminal 6’s biggest customer, and made stops throughout Asia, but pulled out of Portland after months of slow work during contract negotiations between West Coast port operators and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union built on years of labor unrest at Terminal 6.

Hapag-Lloyd, which shipped containers between Oregon and Europe, stopped service to Portland shortly after.
