More than 250 people turned out today for Oregon Business magazine’s seventh annual celebration of the 100 Best Green Companies to Work For in Oregon.

More than 250 people turned out today for Oregon Business magazine’s seventh annual celebration of the 100 Best Green Companies to Work For in Oregon.

Based on its widely recognized 100 Best Companies to Work For in Oregon project, the 100 Best Green Workplaces were determined by an anonymous employee survey and an independent assessment of the employers’ sustainability practices. There were 430 organizations and more than 17,000 employees participating in the project. Companies must enter either the 100 Best Companies survey or the 100 Best Nonprofits survey to be eligible for the 100 Best Green ranking.

The 100 Best Green Companies are featured in the June issue of Oregon Business magazine, which was revealed this afternoon at luncheon at The Nines Hotel.

The top 10 100 Best Green Companies are:

1. Rose City Mortgage, Portland

2. Research Into Action

3. Redside

4. Capitol Auto Group

5. Standing Stone Brewing

6. Capital Pacific Bank

7. DoubleTree by Hilton, Portland

8. LifeSource Natural Foods

9. Earl & Brown

10. Green Acres Landscape

Before the 100 Best luncheon, Oregon Business hosted a Green Your Workplace seminar and panel discussion. Megan Schuler, the Sustainability at Work coordinator for the city of Portland moderated a panel featuring Rose City Mortgage president Renee Spears, former Nike Director Sarah Severn, Lisa Petterson of SERA Architects and Jordan Folks, a research scientist with Research Into Action.
