Motorcycle Superstore is leaving its Medford headquarters and relocating to Texas. The company will shed 118 Southern Oregon jobs in its move.
The company cited a dearth of qualified candidates for job openings as a main reason for leaving.
Unable to fill key positions in Southern Oregon for the online retail and motorcycle news website units, local management began exploring options earlier this year, said Ryan Polk, retail director for Motorsport Aftermarket Group.
“Largely it comes down to the need for more people,” Polk said. “We don’t need new talent; the people we have do great work and are passionate. But we need more talent, and we’re having to go to a place where there is more of that talent. We have a lot of great people on our team, but we haven’t been able to give our team a full complement of teammates; a few key positions have been hard to fill.”

MAG Retail Group, the Motorcycle Superstore’s parent company, made the decision.
The [Motorcycle Superstore] sold in 2012 to Motorcycle Aftermarket Group, an Irvine, California company. Under the new owners, Motorcycle Superstore’s headquarters remained in the Rogue Valley for three years.
But the shutdown will begin in September and be finalized by March.
