Eugene school board says test help gauge student performance.

The Senate approved the bill last week — and the House gave final approval on Monday — despite threats from federal education officials that it could jeopardize about $140 million of Oregon’s annual federal funding. Those funds largely pay for programs to help at-risk students. The Eugene district estimates that its share of those federal funds amounts to nearly $4 million.
